Sid Lorraine’s first book, “Patter”, was originally published in 1938. In 1939, Sid’s second book, A Magician In the House, was produced. In 1950, the magical world was treated to the third Sid Lorraine patter opus, More Patter. In 1962, a fourth entry by The Magical Chatterbox (Sid) was enthusiastically greeted by magicians and entertainers around the world. That book was Gags, Routines and Patter. In 1985, the latest magical bombshell for Sid Lorraine fanatics was the news that all four of the above-mentioned books had been collected together; re-set into a uniform type style; consecutively page numbered; indexed; with clear acetate protected soft covers; with a modern plastic wire spiral binding. In its present form, the material is easier to find; easier to read and study and rehearse (as the pages stay flat no matter to where the book is opened). The entire book is printed with black ink on a canary yellow paper stock that is easy on the eyes. The individual books are separated into sections with buff-colored divider pages. The name of this new collection is...Sid Lorraine’s Scrapbook. The four original books alone would be well worth the moderate asking price but there is much, much more. In The New Tops magazine (1971-1973) there appeared a series entitled Tricks Eleven--Parts One & Two. These twenty-two effects would constitute a book in themselves…but they are included in Sid Lorraine’s Scrapbook as an added bonus. Each trick has its own set of illustrations. Each trick has patter and presentation suggestions. There are effects that range from close-up to stage magic…from mentalism to magical nonsense…from opening effects to closing features. Here are the trick titles: Award Winner, A Blooming Surprise, Self-Naming Adorn, Pay Check, Pipsychometry, Stubborn Knottery, Any Color, Extra Sneaky Perception, Paper Money Maker, A Three Card Trick, The Money Man, The Card That Wouldn’t Budge, A Prize In Every Package, A Close-Up Closer, Cut The Cards, Effective Symbol Perception, An Oriental Persuader, Pretty Pretty Bang Bang, The Shopping List, A Christmas Cut-Up and The End. Here are more than one hundred and sixty-eight large (8½ "x11") pages of vintage and valuable Sid Lorraine material. Patter, tips, routines, tricks, suggestions, anecdotes, jokes, advice, gags, and more. There are even pages set aside for writing down your own personal notes and ideas on the supplied material.
