ASRAH LEVITATION (THURSTON METHOD)
Abbott Building Plan Only
The magician seemingly hypnotizes his lady assistant. She is then placed on an elevated table. A sheet is draped over her and the performer makes several hypnotic passes over her until she is seen to rise slowly from the table. In the presentation of this method, the magician holds his open hands eight or nine inches above the figure and walks down to the footlights with the figure floating right under his hands. He may even walk down into the auditorium. He returnns to the stage where the figure turns completely around and then continues to rise over ten feet in the air! The magician walks under the figure, at the back, and all around during the demonstration. At his command, she descends. He then passes a solid hoop completely around and over the figure proving that the figure has no visible means of support. The performer then grasps one corner of the sheet, pulling it away, and, to the amazement of the onlookers, the young lady has completely vanished! She reappears running down the aisle to the stage.
