Splat was developed by John Kennedy along with magician and optical expert Ken Rosenthal. Here's what your audience sees: You display a modern looking ball point pen. Its unique design shows a portion of the ink cartridge through an open section in the middle of the pen. "See the ink cartridge?" you ask. "It's a special kind of disappearing ink. Watch closely." You bring out a small white card and tap the pen against it. All of a sudden the center of the cartridge vanishes from the pen and the ink splatters onto the card! There's no mess because the ink is completely dry. "Thats interesting, but can you explain this?" You click the point of the pen in and out a couple of times, but it looks impossible because the center of the cartridge is completely gone! You just have to see this to believe it. At the conclusion you can hand out the pen and it will continue to fool the spectator in his or her own hands. In fact, Splat is one of the only magic tricks that will literally fool yourself when you open the package! Splat comes with the special pen and two amazing routines. You can use the pen as a writing instrument because it uses a standard refill cartridge available in office supply stores.
