This book traces the fascinating evolution of tarot cards from their many reputed origins (Italy, Egypt, India, China, and Morocco) to the newly printed seventy-eight card Tarot Classic deck, based upon original eighteenth century woodcuts. Tarot Classic reveals the symbolism and divinatory meanings of each of the twenty-two major Acana cards plus Minor Acana--the colorful court cards (King, Queen, Knight, and Page) and the pip cards numbered from 1 to 10 in each suit. Several of the oldest and most effective fortune telling spreads are included and sample readings illustrate the facility with which a "diviner" may read the cards.
