The Performer hands the spectator a round, clear plastic case with a strap encircling it. Inside the sealed case is a Harry Houdini postage stamp. Under the strap, OUTSIDE the case, is miniature metal key. It can be moved around and is clearly on the outside of the case, held by the strap. "It is not possible to remove the Houdini stamp." The spectator agrees. With the fingers of his right hand, the Magician retrieves the case. "The key represents freedom. Houdini is trapped inside and is taunted by the key which is impossible to reach." Slowly and deliberately, the Performer makes a loose fist with his left hand. It is held like a "cup", open at the top. He places the case in the cupped left fist and shows his right hand empty. Reaching into the top of the "cup", a visible struggle ensues, but ends abruptly. The Performer's fingers emerge displaying the laminated Houdini stamp held at his fingertips. The audience watches closely as the Performer slowly opens his left hand. NO WAY! The miniature key is now seen locked inside the strapped case. Stamp and case are handed to the spectator to examine in disbelief. HOUDINI HAS ESCAPED!
