Will Goldston described the basic apparatus on pages 80 and 81 of his "Tricks of the Masters". Here it was used for the "Triple Penetration" of a silk through a metal cylinder, glass tumbler and sheet of paper. The principle was very versatile and could adapt itself to many more uses, especially in the close up field. Most of Versatility (formerly manufactured by the Supreme Magic Co.) can be performed with the prop as will. Phil Goldstein came up with some more ideas. All these have been incorporated in this manuscript. The "Devon Drum" should prove a very useful piece of apparatus in almost any type of show whether as a "prop" for stealing, or exchanging something, or in a routine built around it.
