A spectator selects a card, tears it into four pieces, keeps one piece and drops the remaining pieces into an envelope (which may be burned). Two plates of Plexiglas are then bound together with rubber bands by the spectator. The plates are set in a decorated frame that holds them in midair. The spectator then steps back and tosses the remaining deck of cards at the frame. When the cards hit the plates, one card with a torn corner instantly appears between the plates. The frame is never covered--this is visual! The piece of card the spectator kept at the beginning matches the torn corner of the card.
