Ed Mellon's Quantimental is one of the best mental apparatus props, with an extremely clever working secret. The original prop today would cost several hundred dollars. We now introduce a simpler version of this item, which can make for a very strong mental effect. The performer displays four different colored rods on a stand. A spectator is asked to thinks of any of the rods, show it to the audience, and place it back on the stand while the performers back is turned. The performer turns around and immediately reveals the selected color. The effect can be immediately repeated. Unlike other effects of this nature, this effect can be performed from several feet away. The performer does not need to go near the rods or stand or examine them.
