Howard Schwarzman is probably best-known as the little guy with the beard making sponge balls and silks penetrate right through a mirror! Howie's Mirror Penetration was the keystone item in his Limited Editions line. A large handsome mirror is displayed in a stand at the front of your stage. Remove the mirror and show it around. An audience member is allowed to tap the mirror and even hold it to prove its authenticity. Return the mirror to its display stand. As you show your hands empty, a red ball magically appears from nowhere. Bring it towards the mirror. As you rub it in a circular motion against the center of the mirror, you slowly remove your hand. It clings right to the mirror! Another circular motion with your hand and the ball shrinks in size. This is repeated and it shrinks even smaller! On the final time, you remove your hand, and the ball has completely vanished. With your empty hands, you form the shape of a box. The ball magically reappears in the center of the square. Move the ball towards the mirror. Your empty right hand moves to the back of the mirror. The mirror creates an illusion. Within its reflection, it appears as if both of your hands contain a ball. Your hands begin to move up and down the mirror surface. As both hands move up and away from the top of the mirror, you are seen holding two balls! You've turned the reflection into reality! Remove a large scarf from your pocket, or borrow one. As you wipe the mirror clean, the scarf magically clings to the mirror. You walk away in wonderment of the whole thing, when suddenly the scarf begins to melt right into the mirror on its own accord! As the last piece of scarf is swallowed up, you try to catch a piece of it. The Mirror Penetration is too quick for you. The scarf is gone. The mirror solid. This is just one routine that can be created using the Mirror Penetration. It is truly a work of art. It's meant for the stage, but can be performed in a parlor setting. You will need background music if performed in a more intimate setting. The mirror measures 17.5"H x 15.5"W. Goldtone finish. It is of a good weight and may be handled by a spectator if desired.
