At one point in Houdini's fabulous career, he exerted a lot of pressure against spirit mediums, who, in that day, were numerous, and some times took advantage of the trust people put in them by swindling their clients. Since most of them used fakery to convince the public, and since Houdini knew the fakery and how it worked, he was very successful in his drive on unscrupulous mediums. Publicity minded organizations and individuals put up large sums of money on these challenges, and of course everyone involved received plenty of public notice. Houdini covers a number of personal experiences in this book, and the odd methods used by mediums to convince their patrons are also explained. It makes up to an interesting document, written by one of the greatest names in our profession. This belongs in your library.
