Magician proves the saw is genuine by sawing through a 2 by 4. The girl enters and is hypnotized. She is placed on a flat board behind the saw. She is then drawn automatically toward the spinning blade. The audience will gasp as they see the saw cut right into the girl, even exposing her back, and tearing her dress to shreds. The motor is stopped, the girl removed and after she is de-hypnotized seems none the worse for her harrowing experience.
