The magician removes two pens from his pocket-one of them is a polished silver pen and the other the standard plastic. He asks the spectator to hold out their hands. “Watch as I drop these pens at exactly the same time…do you see how the metal one dropped faster?” The spectator isn’t convinced as they could clearly see the magician dropped the metal pen before the plastic one. “No, seriously, if I drop these two pens on your hands, just by touch I want you to tell me which one you think is heavier. “Of course, the spectator states the metal one.” Now, that was a good guess...but actually this one is lighter.” And with that, the performer flips open the top of the pen and it’s a lighter! The spectator then freely chooses a playing card and the performer asks that she form a very clear picture of the card in her mind. He tries unsuccessfully to read her mind and ends up asking her to name her selection out loud. As soon as the spectator says her card was the Five of Hearts, the performer immediately states, “Correct!
